Exam Prep: Looking After Your Mind & Body
Exams can feel stressful, scary, and overwhelming — and that’s completely normal. You’re not weak for feeling nervous. It just means you care. The good news is, there are simple ways to prepare that can help you feel calmer, more confident, and more in control.
Feeling Stressed?
You might notice:
Worry or panic 😟
Trouble sleeping 🛌
Difficulty concentrating 📚
Feeling tired or emotional 😞
Negative thoughts about yourself
You’re not alone — many students feel this way.
Simple Ways to Revise (Without Burning Out)
🧠 Little and Often
Short study sessions work better than long ones.
Try 25–30 minutes, then take a break.
✏️ Mix It Up
Try:
Flashcards
Mind maps
Practice questions
Teaching someone else
Writing short summaries
📅 Make a Simple Plan
Plan small goals each day instead of trying to do everything at once.
Look After Yourself (This Really Matters!)
😴 Sleep
Try to get enough sleep — your brain needs rest to remember things.
🍎 Eat & Drink
Eat regular meals, drink water, and have healthy snacks.
🚶 Move Your Body
A short walk, stretching, or fresh air can help clear your mind.
Calming Your Nerves
If anxiety starts to take over:
Take slow, deep breaths
Ground yourself: name 5 things you can see
Listen to calming music
Take short breaks
Talk to someone you trust
Feeling nervous does NOT mean you will fail.
On Exam Day
Eat something, even if it’s small
Take slow breaths
Read each question carefully
Do your best — that is enough
Your results do not define you. You matter far more than any exam 💛
